My Musical Journey
Pieter’s connection with music started as a child, being absorbed in the vibration of disco music in his dad’s music studio. This experience, in combination with the party scene, the hip hop and rap culture that he was engaged in, inspired him to be active as a DJ, combining scratching, rap, beatbox and the old vinyl collection of his dad.
From the ages 13 to 17 he started to explore rap music and drum and bass. A few years later he was introduced to the electronica scene, where he came in touch with techno and house music. Inspired by the raves, and the party scene in Ghent and Brussels, he started to perform as a house DJ, expressing his need for good moods with the most uplifting happy house he could find. He was active as a DJ on private party’s, and some lounge bars in Belgium.
Around the age of 19, he started travelling, specially in Portugal and Spain. He decided to settle in Spain, living in Barcelona, Reus and other places in Catalonia where he began to get introduced to the Kirtan movement (Indian devotional music).
Around the age of 30, he moved to the province of Teruel, at that time he started to be active as a DJ again, performing rap, beatbox and looping at the same time, combining his music with Kirtan and conscious lyrics. He also gained experience working as an art culture event organiser combining music, performance, visual art and much more.
